Hey, Hey, it's a Give-away!

I stumbled upon a fun little "Pay it Forward" contest going on this week, hosted by Swistle. Well, I LOVE contests, as you know, so I'm jumping on board with this one. Here's how it works. I offer up some fabulous prize, and about Friday, the 4th of July (after the parade and before the barbeque and firworks) I pick a random winner from the throngs of you that are going to leave comments on this post. When I send out the fabulous prize, that person then gets to host their own contest on their blog (or, if they don't have a blog, they can just take cookies to a neighbor or send something nice to a friend, as long as we're all trying to pay it forward). So, it's like spreading the love, and making new friends, right?

What's the prize? Well, I don't exactly know yet. It will most likely be a book from my extensive pile of books I want to read but haven't gotten around to yet, or maybe one from the pile of already read ones. Maybe a CD? Maybe some treats? I just don't know yet. Maybe a new car? Probably not. In fact, most definitely not. Until I can win my own new car, I won't be giving any cars away, and even if I did, who would want my 1990 Dodge Caravan with 146K miles on it? Really? You would? Oh.

How do you enter? Just leave a comment here. I'd actually like to know your favorite summer activity to do with your kids, ok? It could be a little thing you do with your kids, or maybe a favorite vacation you've taken with your kids. If you don't have kids, it could just be your favorite thing about summer, ok? I don't want to make this hard and complicated, just a fun summer question.

And if you'd like to enter a bunch more of these fun contests, just check out Swistle's master list.

Oooo, me first!

I love that its not snowing. Its Minnesota, so that's about it really, at the heart of everything I love about summer.

Oh... you thought it was an easy question... but it's really hard to pick just one!
I'd have to say it's just plain hanging out in the back yard watching the kids roll around in the grass. Makes all the hassle linked to getting the backyard fixed up well worth it!

My daughter (age 3) loves the park and my favorite thing is taking her there because it just makes her so happy.

Letting the little ones splash around in the wading pool while I sit in the shade and read.

Well, my kid is still incubating, lol. But while pregnant with him my favorite thing to do this summer has been to go swimming.

I love taking my toddler to fly kites on the weekend. It's fun to see the huge grin on his face when he runs around to get the kite into the air. It's also a fantastic activity that wears him out. The last time we flew a kite together, he took a THREE HOUR NAP! Score 1 for Mommy!

My favorite activity to do with my kids is to brush all of their hair off, and leave the big piles of hair in the back yard for the birds to use in their nests.

I love to go swimming in the river. I hope it warms up enough to do that soon.

(Thanks for having the non-blogger option - I have a profile, but no blog.)

We go on vacation for a week with extended family every year. It's the best way to kick off summer.

Summer activity with the kids is just chill time in the splash pool in the back yard.

Sans kids, it would be a baseball game with Husband.

My favorite thing about summer is no school. My husband is in law school, and right now he's out of class. It's wonderful!

I like to garden with Gabe.

I love the zoo. However, in Texas in the summer it's 100 degree every stinkin' day, so technically, the zoo is my favorite Spring activity.

I guess I'd have to say anything having to do with water...the pool, the beach, sprinkler/hose in the back yard!

Swimming! It's outside, it's cool, my little guy has a lot of fun. And so does everyone else. Plus, it isn't messy.

Taking them to the beach or the park.

Going to the beach with the kids. We live in an area surrounded by water (both fresh and salt) so we have all kinds of beaches here.

It was hard to get used to swimming in a lake though after growing up swiming in pools.

Our favorite thing lately is our sand and water table.

My son is just a year old and I like taking him to the park.

We go to family camp every summer- it's a great getaway!

My son is young, therefore easier to entertain, so playing outside at the park is great. And he loves to help with yardwork and in the garden too.

So far, my favorite thing with my girl is to take her to a little waterpark and play with her all day. Or a regular park. She's a joy, so pretty much anything is fun with her, unless she hasn't had a nap, and then all bets are off.
